Hello all! I’ve placed an order for the following and will be building it over the next few days. Thanks for the advice over the last few weeks.

HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE Dirt3 & Deus Ex PC Games £199.99

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £159.98

OCZ Agility 3 120GB 2.5" £133.99

Asrock Z68 PRO3 Intel Z68 £99.98

Fractal Design Arc Midi Tower Case - Black £74.99

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £59.99

Corsair A70 High-Performance Dual Fan CPU Cooler £32.99

Total : £776.02

This plus some recycled bits of my own:
650w PSU (can’t remember the brand, but it is named)
1TB Samsung F1 HDD
Keyboard, mouse
Samsung Syncmaster 245b, 24” 1900x1200
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1
Plextor dvd drive

If you’re interested I’ll tell you how it goes! My plan is to get the Agility 3 flashed up to the latest drivers, before getting everything in the case and running. Then the usual updating of drivers etc. I’ll then start overclocking the CPU and benching as I go, then I’ll move on and see if there’s any room to overclock the 6950.

My current machine is based around a q6600 (at 3.2ghz) and a 4870 1gb, so I’m expecting to see significant improvements!

I'll be taking my time with this, don't want to spoil the fun all in one weekend ;-)

Well, it's all up and running! It was a bit of a pain to update the firmware of the Agility 3. I had to use a Linux boot tool (linked from the OCZ forums, helpful place), but otherwise was pretty smooth sailing.

The first thing I've noticed is the general zippiness of windows - I've never used a SSD before, and the difference really is amazing!

My first few benchmarks at stock:
3dMark 11 - 5083
Super pi (4m iterations) 56seconds.

2500k idle temps - 24-30
2500k load temps - 44-50

I'm currently playing with OCing the 2500k - so far up to 4.7 (as I'm typing this), brushing 60degrees on load. Will let you know how i get on.
