this is the start of my new build, im trying to make it future proof so im going for the i7 3820 but not sure how much difference the 17 3830 for gaming.
this machine is mainly for gaming ie max payne mass effect 3

im looking for a good motherboard with good audio on it and i already have a corsair ax850

also im looking for a good monitor but not sure how much better the 120hz monitors i was looking at Benq XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz

now budget is £1500 but can go higher

For purely gaming, a i5 3570K is all you need

This is because Hyperthreading isnt utilized by games, heres a comparison vs a 2500K (similar to a 3570K)- http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/523?vs=288

I would go with IB as your main use is gaming.

Its not needed for gaming, Haswell will be released next year.

is the Alpenföhn K2 better than the h100 and is 128ssd enough for a nit of gaming aswell

A good air cooler (Thermaltake silverarrow, Phanteks, Noctua NHD-14 and the K2) will be better than a closed loop water cooler.

Just make sure the RAM is low profile so it fits under the fans.

How many games do you install and play at once?

A Steam install/games/folder wont fit on that mind you, they can get massive.
