Heya there

Im about to build my very first PC. When i deside to get a H100 Corsair, i was not sure if it fits the 400r case with the Asus P8Z77-V PRO Mobo. Just want to doublecheck it would fit on the top as "pushing air out" fan

also, because i dont have much experience, id like to get some feedback on the build;

Case: Corsair 400r
CPU: i7 3770k with H100 Water cooler
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V PRO
Ram: Corsair CMZ 8GB
SSD: 128 gb Samsung 830
PSU: Corsair 650w (already own it)
GPU: Nvidia gtx 570 (already own it)
HDD: 2tb spin HDD (already own it)

Thanks!

If it's primarily for gaming then the i7 will be unnecessary. Hyperthreading doesn't provide any benefit when gaming :)

unless the game/app/program supports it

:D

Civilization 5 and do anyone else have any to add, i could list a few :)

no?

well i'll add some more,

Supreme Commander 1 & 2

anything that says it programmed in 64 bit / gaming that is

this year a few 64 bit games that also support HT will be released, how much of a difference it will make i don't know either, just saying :)

remember the 64bit patch? h88p://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2012/05/23/frostbite-engine-64-bit/1

Ok it does provide a benefit in a few games, but only a ~5fps difference so in my opinion if it's a primarily gaming machine then it's not worth the extra money.

It is a gaming rig, but i dont want the i5, when im spending so much $$ already, why not the newer one. I might, not sure tho, because i never did, OC it a bit. But the main thing is the fitting of the h100 in the 400r case with the mentioned mobo.

i went the i7 route, i only play games on it, have other pc's for net and other users.

im only waiting for rome2, which hopefully will use it fully, if what i read comes true, fingers crossed, if not a later patch, either way the cost is close enough, i'd pay the extra for a better video card so more cpu is ok for me, even if it's not used every day / game i play.

Why are you going for the H100i?

The H60/80 is better value for money and would do just as good a job, for the same performance.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1155 / LGA1156 / LGA1366 / LGA2011/ AM2 / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £76.98
1 x Corsair Hydro H60 V2 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA2011 / 1366 / 1155 / 1156 / 775 / AM2 / AM3) £59.99
Total : £146.87 (includes shipping : £8.25).

im getting the H100 for GBP 75.
But again not the point of the thread.
Would it fit?

Edit: Yes, lukieboy, i want it to last for a while. :)
