Hi all

Here's my plan, I can't afford a good spec PC so figured if I build one, I can buy bits one by one and it will help me learn the insides of a PC

Now I am looking for something fairly decent for what I need, I use expensive software, watch films and live sport. That's about it really!

So I was going to look to build a PC with 8GB ram, a decent processor etc etc

My first question is what case, I read a few guides but obviously I'm guessing a lot of the info on there is based on higher spec PC's. I am on a right budget but don't want a crap case that's going to cause overheating. I was looking at the zalman z9 plus, but noticed its Midi and would cost about £45. Are there any cheaper ones out there that would be sufficient for me without being rubbish or is this a good choice?

Also I would like an HDMI output for putting sport on my TV

Cheers :)

SO that case is decent?

Also, I noticed on eBay some power supplies of a fairly decent price, I read not to just look out for the total wattage, but to check for the Ampage on the 12v rail. Are these (Im guessing chinese) units any good as theyre Sub £20

Cheers :)

Great advice, definietley noted

See there are PC's on eBay, 8gb, 3+ GHZ, 1TB etc for about £270

I wanted to try and build something near this budget, but obviously doing it myself I can learn more about the workings of the PC

Thanks for all the help guys, can someoby tell me the difference between

AMD BULLDOZER FX-4170 4.2GHZ QUAD CORE PROCESSOR

and

AMD A10-5800K Black Edition 3.80GHz (Socket FM2) APU Trinity Quad Core Processor

Both a similar price, bearng in mind my main uses will be viewing sport (HD if poss) and using design and other powerful software

thanks :)

Also, so the fx4170 isn't advisable, if us want to look at a chip without graphics 6300 or above :)

And yeh my main hope is just to handle my software and be able to stream sports (tottenham) to my TV :D
