I built a PC for a friend not long back, and it's given me an upgrading itch.

If you can suggest anything that would be a better choice, even if it's a tad more expensive, the 780TI is more of a placeholder because I'm probably going to wait for a non reference 290x.

It's primarily a gaming rig yeah, to be honest I'm currently on 8GB now and I've found myself running out doing certain things like hosting a minecraft server etc, so I wanted to be on the safe side, there's always space for another 16!

For 200£ you can get faster ram tbh and 16gb too.
Look up tesmgroup or kingston at the store.
And I would change the psu for non-i version, maybe even different brand, like SuperFlower.
Seen some topics lately about the i version not being good.
Motherboard is your choice, but I'd go for gigabyte instead.
Simply better quality/value ratio.

Lee most of your items are Out of stock, not very useful..

OP, you can do MUCH better for your money..

Using the 290X's as placeholders look what you can get for the same price:

A blinged up 290X Xfire rig. :)

The sabertooth is overrated the UD4H is a superb board,

I think 500GB for an SSD is too much and just a waste..

The Black drives are loud and pointless in the SSD age.. You just need a reliable drive like the seagate..

Thr 1220 is a great cooler. The fans are for the cooler and case. :)

Lee, that looks nice :-)
I have avexir memory as well, its a speedy one.
Good choice of motherboard, very nice sound chip.
I'd keep the psu at 1k, you never know when you may need power and its better to have it, than buying a new psu in a few months, right?
