Hey Guys, looking at going for a new build in a few days - and I'm on the lookout for a bit of advice. I done up this build a few minutes ago which is the max I'd be willing to spend. Any obvious improvements I could make? I Have a 500gb hdd in my current build which should be fine. Added an SSD for the OS and a few games. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

It looks essentially fine, but you're spending a lot on the keyboard and there are some good SSDs on offer. With some alterations you can get a 144hz monitor:

Do you realise you haven't got an aftermarket heatsink in there? The CPU comes with a heatsink, but it is a little loud and won't be much use for overclocking.

Fulax has got you covered. But as he said you should really add in an aftermarket heatsink even if your not overclocking, just a lot better and quieter, if you really will never overclock then save a few quid and don't get the K chip.

Curious why you hate the monitor? I know a few people with it and it looks great.

I just think the display is mediocre. I've messed with the settings a lot, and just can't get it looking good.

Plus, a super narrow bezel... With half an inch of dead screen all around it.

Shouldn't be any dead screen all around it.....although one of my friends had the same issue until I went into his ati catalyst centre and found out that it was overscaning the imagine causing a black gap around the screen....needless to say an easy fix :p

I agree there are monitors out there with better colours and higher refresh rates etc, but it is only a £150 monitor and don't think its a bad one for the money.
