I'm possibly getting a new system in the coming weeks and I am looking for a PC that can run most games smoothly and to play high demanding games as well as having options to upgrade some where down the line in case I want to overclock or increase the RAM for example.

My budget is within the region of £1000

The games I usually play are WoW, Overwatch and Battlefield.

Motherboard i'm not too sure whats good but the one I picked seems like it will do the job.

PSU what is the difference between a normal and a Modular PSU?

If you think I can improve on the list or can save money on certain items please let me know thanks.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £869.83
(includes shipping: £0.00)

The case has no space for a DVD drive, you dont need one surely?

450-550W would be enough to power a single RX480.

You need a cooler for the cpu.

550W is more than enough, even 450W would be fine.

What resolution is your screen?

There are i5+Z170 bundles here - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-components/processors/bundle-deals - if you dont need an i7 that is.

Modular ones have detachable cables making cable management easier, you can often get braided cable kits to replace all the cables, the normal PSUs you can get extensions that go on the end of the existing cables.

I have opted for the i7 just for the extra power in case I ever want to play more demanding games.

Most builds I see people opt for the i7 so I thought it would be the best option.

My resolution is 1920x1080

Would you recommend I stick with an i7 or downgrade to an i5?

For gaming an i5 is plenty, an i7 usually gets spec as they can clearly afford it or claim their budget can.

Even if you drop to an i5 the money saved doesn't need to be spent on anything else, no need for a card better than a 480 4GB for 1080p.

Plus a i5 6600K or i7 6700K can all be overclocked (providing the cooling is good enough).

Ok thanks for all your help. I haven't been up to date on the PC scene in the last couple of years.

I'll update the basket, thanks again!
