hi all , just done a new build,
i7 10700k, 32GB ram, M.2 ssd, asus rtx srix 470 G, msi 2070 super, water cooled

this is my 3rd build however , when booting up and get the home screen the display has large icons and is not scaled to the monitor, then it will go blank for a few seconds and re scale its self to the monitor.
i did think it was the intel graphics kicking in at first then the 2070 taking over , but i have disabled the intel graf and its still doing it

any ideas as this is the first time i have ever seen this

cheers

Shouldn’t be anything to do with the onboard graphics if the monitor is connected to the 2070.

Did the nvidia graphics driver install ok?

Yeh..latest drivers.
I did however clone old ssd to the M2 ssd. Bootup is slow.

Adding to that I also did a clean install on second M2. That seems faster to boot up. But that also has same issue with graphics

Seems the display resolution is set wrong then it kicks out and resets the right res

Very weird. Windows should load all the drivers before you get to the desktop. Can you try it with a different display cable and/or a different monitor?

Have a new monitor arriving this week. Will try that with a fresh boot of w10.

Just wondering if some settings have migrated and its conflicting with system and boot up speeds

Can you clear all bios and setting with a new install ? As never played about with bios so its like a full new system

You can clear the bios settings by taking the cmos battery out for a few minutes. That will reset everything to default values.
