Looking at the following:
CPU: 12600KF
GPU: RTX 3080 Vision.
Board: Z690 Gigabyte UD
Ram: 16GB 3200mhz
Case: Liam Li Lancool 2 Mesh
Cooler: Lian Li Galahad
Power: Seasonic Gold 750W
Storage: 1TB SN550
this is approx £2000

other option and a big saving is the 11400f and RTX 3080 for approx £1500 with the option to upgrade to a 11600k for an extra £90

also I am not a fan of AIO's (had one leak, which has put me off), assume the Arctic e34 esport duo is good enough for the 12600k, the cooler is has a TDP rating of 210w

PC is mainly for gaming at 1440p
regarding the 12600k this guy suggests running 3200Mhz ram in gear 1 config. he's doesn't mention 3600Mhz ram, assume 3600Mhz ram can be run in gear 1

11400f is a great £150 cpu that holds its own with Amd 5600x and At 1440p there is less performance gain from the cpu as the gpu does more work. The arctic e34sport is a beast of a cooler and will handle the 12600k no problem.

3200mhz v 3600mhz will only be a few fps diffrence so nothing to worry about .

Obviously the 12600k will be more future proof and is a top performer competing against the 5800x and you will also get pcie4 support.

which is exactly the conclusion that I reached, guess the main thing I am undecided about is, is the 12600k build worth the extra £500 over the 11400f/11600k build...

I'm frugal so for me no it's not worth it but you have to make the final call.

£500 much later will get you another cpu motherboard and memory upgrade if needed.

I wouldn’t bother buying Intel 11th gen if I was you but it’s really up to you and what you want.

The new Socket 1700 will be around for the next while and gives you future upgrade options.

Socket 1200 is dead and was largely seen as a flop by Intel in an attempt to offer something against AMD. It is cheap though.
