Ive not had a pc to game on for about 15 years, I have started getting things together for a pretty decent system, I just need a gpu.

Looking around at prices is rather depressing, I'm looking for something that will last a good couple of years atleast. I would be happy with something like a 3080 but I feel the prices are just not worth it with the latest models coming through, I've looked at 6700 also but feel the prices of these are also abit crazy.

What would you guys look at?
I'm aiming for 1440p gaming, do you think prices should start to drop in the near future?

They're high, but the 6700 XT/6750 XT is still the best value 1440p card. The 6700 non-XT was a great option below £330, but they're usually £350+ now.

A left-field option would be the Arc A770 for around £330 (16GB around £360), it isn't strictly a 1440p card, but going from 1080p to 1440p, Arc actually gains performance relative to the competition and is not that far behind the 6700 XT with the latest drivers in many games, there's even a few games it beats it :o
