Hi I am looking for a new build. Usage is predominantly for office (high excel use). Can you critique the below? The case has some fans included so not sure I need more. Also, I think the CPU comes with a cooler - is that right? Will I need a graphics card and soound card?

Grand Total: £1,131.84

Yes.

Will I need a graphics card and sound card?
No.

I agree with the above, it is likely to be way overkill for this usage.

I'd suggest a cheaper motherboard, memory that doesn't require XMP/EXPO to operate, a larger SSD and a cheaper case.

The PSU is excessive still, but it would support a midrange graphics card if you ever want to game on it.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £926.84 (includes delivery: £11.98)

This is more like what I'd actually build:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £585.84 (includes delivery: £11.98)

The i3-12100 is very fast for single core/thread, even though it only has 4 cores, so it should be pretty snappy in most circumstances. The i5-12400 has been available in sales for not a lot more, if you think 4 cores is not sufficient.

A bit late to the party, but the Wraith Stealth Cooler is horrific (assuming you're still going down the AM5 route) even watching YouTube mine was very noisy and annoying grab a single tower cooler from thermalright for £20 and save your sanity :)
