Hey guys, Im looking for a new cable router, Ive gone through 2 already, the first one being a d link that died completely on me and am now trying to get d link to replace, the current router being the netgear open source router, that keeps disconnecting once more than 2 people log on.

So basically Im looking for someone to suggest a new cable router for me, that can handle 6 people using it plus 2 consoles, and also has wireless capability. Not too bothered about how many wired ports it has, as the house is running off of switches. Thanks

"netgear open source router"? Which router's that?

The popular option is the Linksys WRT54GL, but if you want wireless it depends to some extent on what you're going to connect to it.

I meant if they've got adapters that do 802.11g, there isn't much point in an 802.11n router and vice versa.

I have a Draytek Vigor 2100VG. Had it for a few years and never had any problems. Also has SIP based VOIP functionality which I used quite regulary.

Quite an old model though.

Yeah seems like Tomato is the way to go as well, am quite tempted now, Ive had enough of being constantly disconnected with my current router
