Evening guys,

I've purchased a new CAD software (for jewellery designing and modelling) for myself and need a system. I'm looking at investing in either 2 laptops or a laptop and a PC (2 workers).

I dont fancy building it for myself as it's a business PC and wouldnt want it to go wrong. I'd need a keyboard, mouse, monitor and OS.

I'm spending ~£1400 on the laptop(s) but if i can get a full PC system for £1000 and loose the ability for it to be portable i'd be happy.

Processor
Minimum: Intel i5 Quad Core 2GHz or higher
Recommended: Intel i7 Quad Core, 2GHz or higher (Preferred for increased performance in rendering)

RAM
Minimum: 4GB
Recommended: 8GB - 12GB or more

Graphics Card (GPU)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX with minimum 1GB of Video RAM
Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce 700 Series (GTX 750, 850, 950)
Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce 900 Series(GTX 960, 970)
NVIDIA Quadro GPUs not recommended supported

Monitor Resolution
Minimum: 1440 × 900
Recommended: 1920 × 1080 or higher

Thanks in advance.

what cad software are you using?

im a design engineer by trade and the packages i've used (solidworks/inventor and pro engineer) all require a quadro/firepro etc otherwise you can get graphical errors, poor performance and missing program features such as realview on solidworks.
