Just taken delivery of a new CAD workstation at my work.
Quite a beast :)
2 x 3.0Ghz Quad Xeon
16Gb RAM
1Gb Ati Fire GL card
300Gb SATA 10k disk - assume this must be a Raptor?

Tried Prime95 on it and the CPU barely registers!
Has anyone tried Super Pi? I want to see how it compares on that.
Any other benchmarks worth running?

Unfortunately no photos as the case is warranty sealed :(

You should 'Just' about be able to run AutoCAD 2009 with that spec!... :D

Would you be offended if I called you a Git!...

I'm running:

P4 2.4 Dual,
1.5Gb DDR2
Quadro NVS 280 SD with a Mahoosive 64Mb RAM...
all in a Dell Precision 380 :(

Struggles with ACad 2009 somut chronic!..

and mine's the most up-to date and powerfull CAD workstation in the office!..

It's not actually for me but I do get to play with - sorry configure - it for the end user.
It will be used with Solidworks and 3D Max for rendering and modelling.
It's a bit noisy on boot mind you as it seems to be a server based case that it has been built in. Think Hoover.....

My god, that must take forever to render stuff, it takes ages for even my pc to render videos with blender.
