Ok, so at the moment i have a Panasonic TZ10. Its not a bad camera, but it is getting a little older now, and i'd like a new one that does 1080p video etc. with a few more features and such.

I'm looking for something similar, a point and shoot, or maybe a CSC? But i don't know what's good and what not with regards to them if i'm honest....

Looking at around the £250 mark this is what i've seen so far....

Olympus SZ-31MR Digital Compact Camera - Black (16MP, 24x Wide Optical Zoom) 3.0 inch Touch Panel LCD

or

Panasonic DMC-TZ30EB-K Compact Camera - Black (14.1MP, 20x Optical Zoom) 3 inch LCD

Anyone have any other options i should look at?

Thanks. :)

Is the telephoto zoom important to you? If it isn't particularly, the Canon S100 is very good for around £250. Although beware, there could be a successor to the S100 announced in a few weeks.

If you can sacrifice a bit of IQ for a long zoom, the Sony HX20v can be had for just over £255. I just got mine today and it seems pretty good after a quick mess around.

I would like the zoom if possible, the TZ10 has a 12x zoom and it has come in handy a few times, I dont 'need' a huge amount of zoom, but a little more than 3x would be nice... :)

I looked at the S100 on Amazon but it was 360 quid.... Looks good, but pricey.

I've just been looking at the HX20V actually. Looks good have added it to my short list.

DigitalRev have the S100 for £249. It'll be an import, but it will work just fine. The only disadvantage to the S100 is the zoom, there isn't much of one. But the overall IQ is better than the HX20V.

The HX20V seems very good to me. Been playing about with it all day and its quick, very fast to focus and has nice image modes (HDR, Miniature, Panorama, Partial Colour etc).
