I've always had a Canon Digital Rebel XTI, which I believe is the 350D? However after two years of no longer doing photography I want to get back into it, but with a better camera. My current one the flash doesn't work, drains batteries fast and has awful noise for such a low iso etc

Thinking of spending up to £300, prob second hand with these options below

1) Less noise for higher ISO
2) LCD view display - So basically you can look at the display rather than through the view finder
3) Longer battery life

Any recommendations?

Do you have many lenses for the 350D? If so that will steer you towards another APS-C Canon DSLR to re-use them. If not at that budget and if you really prefer the LCD view over the viewfinder - a Sony RX100 MK1 would be a great little camera in your budget with lots of portability to boot.

Have to ask - if you prefer looking at the screen to using the viewfinder, is a DSLR really what you're after?

Yes, been using DSLR over 6 years if not more. Just fancied something different.

Just one, a Sigma 300mm which I really like. So it does look like another APS-C Canon camera then
