Getting a little windy over running 'technically not legal' cans, and the prospect of Mr or Mrs Insurance voiding me for said fact, I purchased these:

Only fired them up for a bit, they sounded just as loud as my re-baffled cans, so I'll be picking up a couple of removable 'sounds arrestors' for these :D

Just leaving all the gasket stuff to harden now, will hopefully get to christen them at the weekend!

Thanks Fireskull :) How's the healing going by the way?

Tis an R1 agw, my second bike and an absolute beast :D

Are the ends plastic or ceramic?

Healings not bad, feels like its come to a stall at the mo, leg gets stronger but get pains in new places all the time, but the swelling is still going down in the knee.
Thumb is much better but I cant fully extend it so dont know if I ever will lol, Arm is still the same, got Hospital monday to find out if its healing ok or if it needs rebreaking :/ and First Physio appointment in a month!

Ceramic coated magnesium :D

Sounds like a mix bad of progress there, brings back some not so fond memories too, but I wish you all the best dude, keep pushing that thumb though, I got told that if I didn’t really push my wrist it wouldn’t regain full mobility; and it ****ing hurt pushing that further and further.

As Dogbreath says, a cute Physio is a façade

Looking very scrummy indeed.

Not to be a killjoy or anything, but in the Aprilia community, Two Bro's systems aren't exactly rated very highly from what I have heard.

That said, it could just be down to individual experiences.;)

They suit your R1 perfectly.

Thanks Draeger :)

I think it’s kind of the same with the R1 lot too, but they don’t rate the TwoBros cans as others out there give better performance gains, if anything the TB stuff usually gets good reviews on the sound output.

For me though it’s the sound I wanted them for, my bike is amazingly fast as it is, and I doubt that the 1-2 HP that these don’t make over the other favourites, will make much difference in road riding; so I can’t see what all the fuss is about.

Communities eh :p

Looks Great! I was thinking of a Two Brothers can for my CBR. Great looking can and the end pieces really set em off. Just had problems sourcing one at the time :(

Yep, really nice cans I think, I especially liked how the pipes had to be attached to the silencers, so it makes fitting a lot easier then cans with fixed pipes; at least that’s how I found it, only issue was with the Akrapovic Y-pipe being a little too snug on the left one – cue rubber mallet :d

Got these from that online auction place (not sure if I can mention it lol), with a good chunk off of the RRP, the UK dealer was a pleasure to use and the shipping was instant.

Look really good, I think the bike though is crying out for a smaller plate and maybe small LED indicators though

I have a small plate on and never been pulled for it... as long it's not silly small.

Good points, may have to look into that now :D

So to avoid insurance issues you traded one illegal race can for a different one?

All you need to do to get insured is to declare them and have them approved by your insurer. You will still need to do this, even for "legal" cans.
I’ve heard that the legislation on whether a motorcycle exhaust is road legal, is that it shouldn’t be stamped ‘not for road use’ or ‘race use only’ (along those lines) and the it should be too loud; but that this part is simply down to the opinion of the MOT tester as they don’t have equipment to measure the sound. Not sure how true any of this is.

My re-baffled cans were frankly very loud, they were also imported from the states, so all the stamping they had related to Federal laws, which I suspected could make things difficult trying to get them approved over here.

At least with these ones, I have the ability to add a removable baffle to quieten them down further, which will make commuting more bearable.

As for declaring the cans to the insurer, I have always done this, and only get asked for the HP increase, only once was I asked “are they road legal?” when I had the Ninja before.

Yup. I normally go to one feeling ok, and leave in need of painkillers. Psychobitches the lot of them.

Although the ability to get some good perving done makes up for some of it...

Hahahahaha, nail on the head :D
