Hi guys,

Its time for me to get my own car as im moving away to oxfordshire for work and will be living in a small village without a bus so need a car for commuting (6 miles each way)and supermarket etc.

Going to try and spend around £3-4000 although could go a bit higher if needed. Not after a big car, so i think a mondeo is out of the question. Im thinking maybe a focus? although i do quite like the clios in this price range. What do you guys think?

Also i drove an automatic in Canada, and i found it a much more relaxed way of driving, what are euro cars like as automatics? Btw im 23, passed Nov 2008 but only have NCB as a named driver.

Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

I had an auto Escort 1.6 (F-reg)

It was the ghastliest piece of **** I've ever had the misfortune to drive.

I know I said I'm an A-B type of guy. But if the journey is a sequence of:

A

Arrghghgh why does it only have 3 gears??? why??? WHY GOD WHY???

Kick down...KICK....DOWN....ARGGGH KICK THE **** DOWN NOW.

B

Then it's not really strictly A-B any more.

*before anyone asks, the car was a present from some generous but misled grandparents*
