New car - e46, few questions!

I have 0 ncb, have just been a named driver while at uni as I didn't really require a car.

Just happy not to be in a rover anymore!

Enjoy it bro, it's a good first car. Don't let the "wrong engine" crowd make you feel bad about your purchase... could have bought something much, much worse.

Fox did you ever reach a conclusion on those dynavin units? I saw a thread you made but the last few pages just seemed to be arguing.

NVP: Cheers mate I am enjoying it. The time for the bigger engines will come eventualy.

As I recall the main complaint with the dynavin was the shoddy build quality. I think the only good reviews were from people trying to rationalise and justify spending that much money on an deceivingly inferior product.

I bought mine at 22 and the 328Ci was easily insurable, as was the 530i I eventually chose

£1,000+ annual premiums is not what I'd describe as 'easily insurable'. The smaller engined cars are cheaper to insure, as well as cheaper to buy.

There was only one car in the 3 Series range which was better than the 323Ci when it was available. It was a car that rendered the 323i completely pointless, however, given it offered more performance for zero additional running costs, but the 323Ci remained only one below the top of the range.

Ah I always get confused with which engines were available when. I thought the 325 was also available at the same time along with the 330d. Still, you get the point

Fox hasn't bought a NAV, does that make BMW 16:9 NAV crap too?

It does mean that the 10 year old BMW navigation system is not worth the £1000 retrofit cost, yes.

The 325Ci replaced the 323Ci in July 2000 and was not in the range at the same time. The 330Cd did not appear until almost 4 years later.
