10 - 15k although can increase budget if she falls in love with it.

She is doing quite massive motorway miles and currently has a focus tdci which she likes but says is uncomfortable for all them miles.

Requirments

Bigger than focus (i.e. cruiser)
COMFORT - especially seats
good MPG

I thought about an ST TDCI Mondeo, these any good?

would o thought a ST TDCI would have slightly harder suspension and would be worse than a top spec mondeo (Titanium X i think) for crunching miles.

Edit, Heard Citoren C5's are very good motorway cruisers, the best thing under £25k

BMW 330d Sport - could get a cracker for 15k. Could also get a cracker for £12k, but you'll be in high miles for that money.

Trouble is she sat in her work mates new 3 series as a passenger on a trip to down south and she said she had back ache  not too sure which model it was though. So I think she might even be a bit  which just test driving a bm?

that's a 3 series, which is like the focus of the bmw range, with the 5 series being the mondeo ;) (im not comparing the 3 to the focus, but you must see what i mean :p)

Tom.

Why not just get an old 406 diesel. Get one for around 3k with full leather and all the bells. Would be just what your looking for, cheap to run, comfortable, cruiser.

If you want something a bit posher then got for the 530d

get a Saab, they are lovely! bit different to. failing that the beemer.

but a lot less reliable I have a mate who has a saab 93 sport and its been back so many times its unreal

get an Audi A4 - 1.9tdi, 2.5tdi? (thinking of mpg here) smart, professional. good looking.
Make sure you get one with the 'buffalow leather option' or whatever its called, that will keep her comfy :)

Audi A4 should be nice and comfy. I think the problem with the 3 is that lumbar support isn't standard ( ). I'm not sure if I even have it on my Sport seats. However, I will say that the Sport seats are very comfy. A lot of reviews on the SE tend to slate the standard seats.

the Audi A4 is not a comfy car imho, step mum had one, just a bog standard 1.9tdi SE and it was very hard. Been in a A3 1.9tdi sport and that was even worse :( Passats are far more comfy.
