New Car Ideas?

I like the look of some of them, just they are quite large in size?

We want something around the size of our current IS200, because having a GS300 it was just too big.

I totally misread your post and thought you wanted something bigger than the IS200. I'm sorry. Yes, the E39 is a bigger car.

Although interestingly it is no larger than a Mk3 Ford Mondeo.

In which case, the 3 Series is the car to consider.

Yeah, we thought of maybe an M3 if we can fit it into budget..

We just want a decent car, looks nice, fairly new and has some grunt behind it..

More than 154bhp, or what ever the IS200 has =)

330i is clearly what is needed :).

Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG worth considering as a less common alternative.

Problem is, like most rare things, its rare for a reason.

Hint: The reason isnt that it was a great M3 alternative.

Oh yes I forgot anything other than something with a BMW badge on it is likely to fall apart as soon as sat in.

I'd rather drive something slightly more rare which does not have quite as good driving dynamics than have something you see everywhere. At the end of the day its still a very good car. Guess its all opinion though, I know which I'd choose in an instant.

Where did I say that?

There is a C Class on every street corner.

You do? How really rather daft, I'd have to test drive both first. But then I don't buy cars based purely on image and looks.

I went to the London Motor show on the 25th and 26th and seen the calibre. Looks a nice vehicle on the outside but the interior is awful and the choice of engines is a bit limited. For a US vehicle for the uk they could atleast be similar to the Viper, RAM etc and maybe put a V8 or a V6 in it.

I could never own a BMW. :p

wow, after your other sarcastic post about anything other than a BMW falling apart, i would have thought you wouldnt be the sort to generalise etc etc...

not sure why as a family car an e39 is too big? they arent that much bigger than a e46 tbh.

According to parkers, though not sure how accurate it is, an E60 5series is 1846mm wide, and a 3 series is 1817mm wide, a whopping 2.9cm difference :) (though no idea if mirrors are included in that)

In a Jag mood for some reason today, S-Type 3.0 V6? X-Type 3.0 V6?

Chrysler? Why'd you want to go and do that ? :p
