...it has to be reasonably exacting.
I am curently bagering around in the missus' MX-5, since she has been prohibited from driving due to a recent siezure. Anyway...
The missus gets travel sick. Especially when I drive. And really bad when I drive. That was also the case in the MR2 and the 200SX but not so much in the Accord VTEC. Practical isn't particularly necessary - infact I find it a disadvantage as if you have loads of space, you end up driving other people about. The whole "sorry, the MX-5 only has 2 seats" is quite nice really, though I must admit the lack of space is startling and shopping becomes a logistical nightmare.
It also has to be fast. There is a good chance I'll be going in the RAF and having to drive home at weekends (150 miles each way) but economy isn't a consideration as whatever I drive returns shocking figures (20-22mpg from the 1.8i mazda!) so even a DIEsel won't help that.
Cost - c. £2k.
Exclusions: Vauxhall. Mondeo (old fella has an ST24). Saxo/punto shopping trolley. Diesels. Slow things.
Insurance isn't too much of a worry, I'll be 26 and have 4 years NCB.
I would prefer it if the missus didn't feel like calling for Ralph on the 'big white telephone' everytime I hit a corner but it is my car so it ain't necessary!
