Well i took into consideration comments and opinions from people on this forum and other forums, as well as my own opinion and gut feeling. So yes i have decided on a brand new car.

Citroen C2 Design
1.4i
Poseidon Blue - Optional Extra
16" Leopard Alloys - Optional Extra

It will be with me on Saturday! Have sorted the insurance out with Tesco's and am very please with the quote (£50 a month (Im 21 with 1 yrs NCB)

Question:

1) As i am purchasing new wheels with the car, as an EXTRA, I should be entitled to the old ones shouldn't I? After all, i paid for them. The reason i ask is because the salesman got a bit funny when i requested them. The old wheels were 14" and the new ones are 16"

They might class the new alloys as upgrades, which might mean they take the old ones as part of the payment for the new ones  Maybe, it's just an idea :)

Sounds like a nice car though, I know my girlfriend fancied a C2, so you'll need to get some pictures up when you get it :p

Cheers dude.

Well as i see it, i am paying for a new car, and alloys on top f the price. So, I am going to ask for them, i told the salesman i paid for them, there mine and i will take them with me.

The salesman i part dealt with was a complete idiot and used all sorts of examples to sell a car to me, including dreaded holidays and meals out. I eventually got to deal with the sales manager who just talked sense.

I will deffo be putting some pictures up of it on Sat/Sun.

You should get them, you pay enough for new cars, so in theory your entitled to them :)

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking. Did you not fancy the 1.4 HDi engine?

You have not paid the value of a complete set of alloys and tyres. You have paid an additional amount to upgrade - the fact they wont need to supply 14" wheels and tyres are taken into account when the cost for the option is chosen.

So no, they are not yours and you are not entitled to them.

I paid full price for them, and it is included into the finance. I have paid for the car and for the Alloys seperately.

The reason i did this with Citroen and not another alloy wheel supplier company is i wanted it all garunteed and certified by Citroen. I have heard some bad stories about manufactures blaiming faults on non-standard parts. This way the Citroen warranty covers everythign the way i want it.

I paid £7,350 (This included their cashback, etc they give you)

I did it on their Elect3 Finance option. I pay £179 a month (including extra for metalic paint and alloys) and then i can

1) Buy it off them after 3 years for £2,777
2) Give it back and pay nothing
3) Get another new car and continue with monthly payments.

I found the petrol engine to be a bit quicker off the mark and in needy situations. I found it more responsive, especially when accelerating to overtake, etc. I also prefered the sound of the engine :)

The petrol engine is also ridiculously economical.

I'd still be suprised if they'll give them to you.

That'll help go towards offsetting the enormous cost of buying a small towncar brand new :p

Pratt.

I didn't ask that and i don't want to know your opinion for a second time on the same matter. As i said above, i listened to what people had to say about this car, but it was my decision.

What would you prefer? Everyone buy a ugly mondeo and stick a carp kit on it? (Rhetorical question)

Thanks for the personal insult.

I don't really care whether you asked that - I've helped you out with your original question in a non-sarcastic and helpful way, but as a parting comment just found it amusing you seem impressed with the economy, given how much the car cost, thats all.

If you want to make a HUGE deal of it sure, but now your thread is going way OTT whereas had you not decided to throw a huge paddy there is every chance it would still be about optional alloy wheels.

So let me get this right, you paid full price for the alloys instead of upgrading them as an option and paying less, what a totally stupid thing to do, since you seem to have purchased two sets of wheels you should have the originals that come with the car but I doubt you will get them.

Good going on the amazing economy, now the car halving in price in the first year won't matter as much!

I don't think this is what happen - I still think he has simply paid the listed option price but has assumed that since it appears in his invoice seperately, he has paid full price. I still think its based on an upgrade price and as such, the 14's are not his.

Oh dear, you're for it now, although I'd be suprised if you got the same amount of insults as I did for pretty much exactly the same comment.

Don't take it to heart.

I think you are a pratt for making a coment such as that. No matter what you say i love the car, i think the price is reasonable and i can afford the monthly payments. At the end of three years the car is definately going to be worth more then 2,700 so i will sell it and pay off the finance, with some money for a deposit on a different car.

Fox - You make some good comments on here and are very knowledgable but sometimes you say stupid things just to show your right, etc.

I really don't see what this is all about, i asked about the wheels, NOT the money, finance etc.

I have had mixed responses about this and so i will take it up with the dealer when i pick the vehicle up, although he did, verbally, reluctantly agree to it. The upgrade they offer is a 14" alloy, which i didn't want.

Maybe it'll be worse... maybe he'll call him a prat with 3 T's :p

Ok. If you paid the upgrade cost ie the number stated on the list of things the dealer tried to convince you that you need then its the difference in cost between the 14" and 16" wheels. Therefore you never owned or payed for the 14" wheels and you won't get them.

If you bought the car then the wheels seperately then well done- you've just been ripped off and you should get both sets so you can clutter up your garage with the 14"'s. Don't forget to tell the insurance company that you bought your car then added 16" wheels.
