I picked up my new car today, a Mondeo ST24.
2000 X Reg
Silver
55k miles
Full service history
Full MOT and 1 month TAX
Half heated leather. A/C etc.
Only one minor bodywork problem.
I'm impressed with the car, I have a Pulsar so I was imaging the speed to be somewhat 'different' but it pulls through the gears quickly, the torque is great on the car. The thing is extremely quiet, I was standing next to it and you couldn't even hear it on! However, the sound of the V6 is extremely nice when in high revs, very nice
Gearbox is effortless to change gears, the car is a real nice drive and the added heated seats and A/C are very useful
I never thought I'd have a Mondeo, I'm only 21 after all
but so far I'm very impressed. I love the looks of it too. Especially the rear.

The only problem I have I hope you guys can help me; the car has a standard cassette headunit with CD changer under the passenger seat. I grabbed a few of my CD's and stuck them in the changer, played first time fine. I was fiddling with the "sound lever/knob" by the steering wheel which adjusts volume etc, when the Radio came on, no worries I probably selected it accidentally, so I changed over to "CD" on the unit again, but on the 3 selected CD numbers came "CD error E2 error" and then radio came back on.
This confused me a bit, I tried unloading/loading the CD's again but to no avail, same error, I fiddled with the "sound knob" again and then tried again, and the CD worked again, I thought it must just be a one off that this occurred.
Anyway, later on today the same thing occurred without me touching the "gear knob" after me fiddling with the player and cd changer for ages it decided to play number 6 CD, but not the other 2, but then it was very intermittent playing 6 and sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I then changed that CD to number 4 and it liked that then, so I was then wondering if it was the CD's that were the problem?
They were all genuine CD's, not copies, 1) Audioslave 2) American head charge and 3) Mudvayne.
Anyone got any ideas?
Do you think the CD changer needs replacing, or even the unit?
Cheers
