Ello people,

Well, its time for me to get myself an grown up car again instead of the wee toy car I have now, the ultra sporty Aygo ;)

The downsize to the Aygo has served me well, but a change in my job means I will now be doing a lot more miles (motorway especially) and the wee tin hut on wheels doesnt cut the mustard for that.

Any suggestions welcome, will need to be a diesel and a budget of upto 5K.

Cheers

E38 7 series all day long. Surely? ;)

I'll let R420LA6X2/4MNA fill you in on the specifics. :D

I do not believe there was any such thing as an E38 diesel ...maybe somewhere else in the world but I've never seen one here.

I guess it comes down to Mondeo really :D ...that's my first and sensible suggestion anyway, if you don't like that I'll start pulling out the 10+ year old luxury/executive cars :D

But that doesn't matter. ;)

On a serious note though the Mondeo is a very good call. There are quiet a few posts on here and people will be along shortly to explain in great detail the common faults with TDCI engine and what to look for.

I do like the look of the Mondeo's, havent driven one before... anyone know if there is much difference between the 115bhp and 130bhp and is it worth going for the more powerful of the two?

If I go down the Mondeo route, what should i look out for?

Would a focus be just as good?

Cheers

For your budget I would stick with the mondeo, the focus mk1 is now quite dated and a mk2 pre facelift Focus is a very dull looking machine.
