Hi all

Bought myself a 53 plate Ford Mondeo yesterday, it's a LX TDCI 2.0, reasonably tidy outside, nothing a bit of t cut wont fix. Lovely inside too apart from a couple of little bits I was hoping you might be able to help me with.

Firstly only half the dash is lit up when the lights are on, the rev counter and engine temp guage (left side) are not lit up but the speedo and fuel guage are (right side).

Secondly the stereo will not switch on at all, doesn't even get to asking for a code.

Any suggestions? I have checked the fuse for both and i'm going to take the stereo out to see if its loose connections.

Are these the slots above the cd and am/fm buttons and below the fade/bal and pty buttons?

found some for a fiver so ordered them, been looking around at how to get to the dash, looks like a pita really

Turns out the problem with the stereo was a fuse! Only found it by looking at a technical wiki on the net. Oddly replacing this fuse sorted the cruise control out too. Just the dash lights to sort now.
