Been a little out of the "game" for a while as far as i was happy with my spec. However i think it may be time to tweak my graphics card, im sensing that the cooling is beggining to get suspect.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366)
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W ATX2.2 Modular SLi Compliant Power Supply

who is winning these days ati or nvidia :D

budget of around £250

cheers

better remove the winning question, this thread will go absolutely crazy!

The GTX480 from gigabyte which is on offer is quite a great deal for it's price, if you don't mind heat/noise/power.

From the ATI perspective a 6950 unlocked to 6970 would be about the equivalent I guess?

hehe i like debate :D
thanks for the reply will look into them seem pretty reasonably priced too. the ati might be a little too long though. time to get the tape measure out :D

Since you could stretch to £250 it might be worth checking out the Gtx 570. It's basically a gtx 480 but runs quieter, cooler and uses less power than the 480.

Although a 6950 unlocked to 6970 speeds is by far the best bang for the buck.
