Currently got a nvidia 8800GTS 320mb and a Samsung SM931BW 19".

Looking at upgrading to a ati 5770 and a Viewsonic VX2268WM 22" 120Hz which I can get for about £340. Any other suggestions or comments before I click buy?

Will I really see that much of an improvement over the 8800? I mean I can still play almost all games on high settings already; only games like FC2, GTA4 and of course Crysis I have to turn down the settings, but still get very playable fps at low-med settings. Source engine games for example I can play on max settings 16x AF and AA with no issues, although that's at 1440x900 so I don't know how it would cope at 1680x1050.

Other specs:
C2D E6850 3.0Ghz, 4GB mem, GB P35C-DS3R, Win7 64bit.

Don't bother with that 120Hz monitor. You need the power to get frame rates that high to make use of it which the 5770 won't do.

You should see a massive increase in performance with the 5770 :)

Ive done the same upgrade as you just recently, 8800 gts 320mb to ati vapour x 5770 on windows 7 with 4gb ram and e8400 at 4ghz and it can play everything i throw at it on high, it even copes pretty will in crysis! so i would say yes, the 5770 is an excellent upgrade!

Anyone tried a LG W2452TX 24" 1920x1200 ?

It's about the same price as the 22" 120Hz monitor I was going to get.
