new card== broken pc

hi. so i have had a skt 775 motherboard and q6600 setup in my garage mining away with first 2 7970's, i then sold those and put in a gigabyte 280x which wasn't giving me the performance i wanted so i ordered 2 sapphire dual x 280x's. they came today so i turned off the pc and removed the gigabyte,put in one of the sapphire 280x's and the fans spun for a second then nothing. i tried all the steps and still nothing so i have another skt775 board which i know was working. same thing,it spun for a second then nothing. now i have 2 motherboards which won't work. has the new card killed my boards?

coolermaster silent pro 700w. that was ok when i turned the pc off to replace the gpu

You got a known good graphics card you can try in the board?

yeh i put the gigabyte back in,same thing. because it's a mining pc it's not in a case so i have no speaker attached.bit of a coincidence if it's the psu,as it worked until i put the new card in

seeing as it's doing the same thing on both mobos i'm think it must be the psu??

edit. just done the pin trick. psu is dead

Thought so, hopefully that's the only thing what's went wrong.

I'd recommend getting a Seasonic or Superflower PSU.
