Hi all just changing from a 8800gt card to a Powercolor 1GB 5770. Uninstalled the nvidia drivers, turned off pc, inserted the 5770 and switched on pc and not getting any display.

Stick the 8800gt back in and i get a display. Help please

anyone? starting to pull my hair out now. The computer boots up find with the 5770 but doesnt show any display on my moniter

Yeah its connected fine. Fan on the card spins up. Not sure if it might be a motherboard bios issue now

i had the same problem with a 5870 that i bought from ocuk, i put my gtx295 back in and it booted fine so after a few tries i decided to rma the card back, they tested it tho and said it worked fine for them so i have no idea what the cause was

Did you stick with the gtx or have you tried an ati card again? I have just found that the 5770 using pci-e 2.1 where as my board does pci-e 2.0. Could that be the issue?

Well i dont know what was wrong but i got it working now. Upped the GPU clock to 900Mhz and the Memory clock to 1350Mhz with no bother at all
