There are so many good cards out there, and with the new 1900 series from ATI and Nvidias new cards just around the corner, i'm looking to snap up a bargain. I would like a card which will give me good performance and will last me for a couple of years. i'm not a hardcore gamer, and will only need to run at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 at most.

Will there be any price reductions around the corner? What card should i aim to get>? Ideally needs to be compat with Vista when it is released.

Thanks for any replies.

Does it matter what brand the card is? I would obviously like to overclock if the potential is there. What sort of speeds can they go up to...? Say if i bought the OcUK GeForce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 at £211

Thanks

I am happy enough with my leadtek 7800gt, but i think it's probably the one of the worst of the 7800gt bunch (though it's the cheapest too). I can get a semi-decent core speed of 485 but the memory won't go higher than 1.07. Having said that i can still get 8150 on 3dmark05 and 4050 at 3Dmark06.

I am putting an antec Vcool under it tomorrow and hopefully that will help me stretch it a bit more.
