Hi Guys,
A newbie here.
Just purchased a PC with a GT 220 1Gb card (4 gb ram, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.5ghz running Vista Home) and I want to upgrade the 220 because I don't think it is fast enough.
Need to know if my cpu will support an AMD 5770 1gb, an AMD 4870 1GB or a Gainward GeForce GTX 260 Golden Sample and which on I should go for.

Thanks

You've just bought a GTS220 and you want something more? How about you try to sort out returning this GTS220 first?

so you just brought a ready built PC with a GT220 1GB?

to be honest anything will be faster imo, you looking to get DX11 early, if so HD5770, if your not bothered, HD4870/GTX260 depending on powersupply, but yet again I just made a error there :p as the new HD5XXX cards take very little to power than the last gen cards

Your CPU will be fine. It might be a slight bottleneck in a few badly coded single thread, CPU heavy games but nothing to worry about.

Personally I would go for the 5770. Compared to the other two cards it's quieter, uses less power and is Dx11, although it is some 10% slower than a Gtx260. The power issue might be very important if your PSU isn't very powerful.
