new card, missing screen in game

Alright

Just got my new card today gtx260 and ive resized desktop through nvidia tools and its worked except for my games, im missing some of screen round edges

exactly same tools i had with the 8800gts but i didn't have this problem at all

could you tell me how to sort it out please, thanks

what resolution do you use when gameing and what do you use on the desktop

if you use a diffrent resolution for gameing than what you have on your desktop your going to need to go onto your desktop and change the resolution to what you game at then use the resize feature to fix the black borders then change back to your desktop res then try running the game again.

the screen should be fine then.

i that doesnt fix it then your going to have to change the upscaling ect or settings in the nv pannel i cant remember havent used the nv cp for a wile lol

i have desktop on 1280x720 and when i game i have it at 1920x1080, never had any issues doing this with the 8800gts

edit: just set desktop to 1920x1080 and adjusted the screen and gone on a game that way and still there's screen missing, got fraps running and cant see the fps at all, thats how much of screen is missing in game

Don't you have any OSD settings to help (buttons on your monitor?) there should be an auto adjust setting you can use.

na, with my 8800 all i did was go in nvidia panel, resized hd desktop once, never had a issue afterwords, what ever res i set things to....its just being a complete **** now! is there any other programs i can use except this nvidia control panel? thanks

right just got back in and gave it another go with no luck but what i think ive figured is thats when im resizing the desktop in nvida panel its not actually fitting it my screen like it did with the 8800gts drivers, its just making my resolution smaller then the native res

Native res 1920x1080
nvidia is making my res 1808x1036

anyone got a clue then? proper annoying!

adjust the screen size through the monitor instead of the graphics card drivers?

load the game up, then call up the monitors OSD and adjust it to fit that way.

it wont let me adjust screen from tv when im on HDMI

Ive sorted it anyway, just went back onto older drivers, 181.22 are ****!

i love the card, just a shame the drivers are messed up, tried last night to go to old drivers and setup nvidia control panel there then install the new drivers, but it just keeps making me get 4bit colour screen and wont let me change,checked on nvidia site and seems to be a lot of people with this problem with the 181.22 drivers

so staying with 180.48 drivers for now, all games are playing flawlessly, noticed a massive difference from my previous card!
