Hi,

So I finally put my hand in my pocket and bought a new card (xfx r9 280), installed it and now my computer does not post. Have reseated it, checked connections, reset mobo to defaults and no change. I swapped it out for my original card and all was fine again. Have I missed something - any help would be great.

I have the following main specs.

i5 2500k
Msi mobo p67a-gd65(b3)
Corsair tx650w

And am now flashing bios to latest version - which did not help ggrrrrr

Bugger - min req 750w power supply.......would that really be a major issue, think I know what you will say.

No, people have ran 290's on 500w and 550w PSU's so i don't think the wattage is an issue.. I have a 650w Akasa in one of my rigs and it handles an Oc'd 290 just fine.

So I RMA'd the card and it has passed testing with flying colours - now what?

I am inclined to point the finger at the PSU - why?

Occasionally when I boot up my PC everything spins up, the lights come on etc etc but it will reset and go through the boot up process again. Sometimes this will be before the post and sometimes during boot which ends with the normal Windows failure to start warnings.

What do you think - don't really want to sink another £70 unless I need to on a component I may not need.

Cheers

in space?:D

Well that went over my head.

Anyway, got the card back after it passed its RMA and after I updated my bios as per the link earlier ..... and..... it worked!

Booted straight into windows, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and everything seems to be working as intended.

Thanks for the help.
