New card = No signal on monitor :/

Hey guys.

A few days back I decided to purchase a 2nd 7950 (r9 280, from OC; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-019-VX) for my PC, looking to crossfire, however upon installing the card my monitors don't work.

This might get confusing, so 'Card 1' is the original 7950 I had, with 'Card 2' referring to the newly purchased r9 280.

I tried all of the following with the use of both my monitors, then switching between using just 1 or the other, testing in all available dvi ports (on my mobo, card 1 and card 2).

What happens is my monitors just blank out, saying 'no signal' the moment I attempt to add card 2 to my machine. Here are the various things I have tried and nothing seems to work;

- Every possible combination of Card 1 and Card 2 slotted into the PCI slots with the crossfire cable connecting the two

- Using just Card 2 on it's own in every single PCI slot

- Switching the psu to gfx card pci power cables to others; tested and working perfectly fine with Card 1

I am confident I am fully seating the card on the mobo and that the power cables are all the way in too (having spent the most part of a day trying to sort out this issue).

No matter what I try, the monitors state 'no signal'. The fans on card 2 power up and the fact that the even when Card 2 is installed alone these issues remain suggests that it can't be a power related problem.

Is the card just 'dead' or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was ideally hoping to get this sorted out prior to i52, but if need be I'll just get a replacement card there if I have to.

Current build if it helps at all;
- i7 3770k (standard clock)
- VTX3D 7950 (standard clock)
- 1 x 256gb SSD
- 2 x 2TB Barracuda HDD's
- 2 x 8GB RAM
- Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 Motherboard

Thanks <3
