new card not detected??

Help.. just installed my new gtx 980ti and now the computer will not recognise it. It was running fine before i put this new card in ..Looked in bios but if im homest dont know whaty im looking ...mobo is a gigabyte ga -z77x-d3h
....another thing just put my old card back in and its not detecting that also...hate messing with my pc...

What was the old card?

What is your PSU?

Rest of system specs etc.

Could be that you've overloaded your PSU and it's died....

i was running 2 7950s in crossfire and my power supply is a xfx bronze 750 watt semi modular

should the computer beep at start up if everythings ok?

Do a motherboard BIOS clear back to factory settings but remember to take down any overclock settings before you do that. Take the gpu out at that point and for the first start up with the cleared bios have no gpu in. Then power down insert gpu start up normally and reinstall drivers and hopefully it should be detected. If not shout again and will tell you what else to check. Also make sure you are running the latest bios for your motherboard.

A friend got a 980ti a few backs and had to update the bios for it, He has the same board as you

Edit: Ignore that, he has a msi z77 , sorry

Thanks dude..its just seems odd ..This is what I did...removed all amd software from control panel..restarted pc. Shut down pc removed both cards. Installed new card..tried to reinstall new software.then I find out pc not recognising new card. Removed new card tried one of my old cards now it will not recognise this. Try ed card in other pie slot still nothing...totally baffled. Took pc to a guy repairs them but not holding much hope out on him....

Horary.... All sorted. It was such a simple fix .Well when I tried to install driver from disc that came with card it would not recognise hardware but by downloading the driver direct from nvidia it detected the card now all is good again...thanks for all your ideas and now to try out the 980ti beast in game....
