Okay so i have a GTX 480 at the moment running 2 screens, most games are played in high detail will little to no type graphic lag, on some games i play online i get some and its really ******* annoying, im looking to play the new star wars mmo that due out.

i did wonder if this was down to my internet but to me it looks more graphical than shall we say a lag spike, would it be best to upgrade by buying another 480 for SLI (i think id have to get a new 1000w PSU) or do i just buy one of the new 500 series?

Another 480 would be the cheaper option if u didn't need a new psu, an 850w would probably be ok if u was running the cards at stock.

Had 8800gtx sli - never again. Some games ran worse with it enabled, others saw hardly any performance increase, machine was noisier, hotter and more expensive to run. Now on a single 560ti and even though my mobo is SLI capable, I'll never SLI it. Instead I'll stick to single cards in future.

Doesn't sound like the GPU is an issue... tho don't be put off by SLI - it does actually work and work properly for most people - increased heat/noise aside.

It's not a GPU problem by the sounds of it. A 580 would be a waste of money in my opinion, ~300+ for around a 10%-15% increase isn't worth it imo.
