hi all can you help me out,, my old but faithfull gtx 460 card fan shattered its fins away, got a gaffer taped fan cooling it now:p but its over heating and causing my motherboard to reach temps of 60c, so time for a new card, all i play is wow and counter strike, can you kind :) people advise me on a new card please, thankyou in advance:)
 
may be a card i can double up with another once funds clear as well, or is it not worth it for my needs

my system is a fx 6300 six core black edition
8 gig of ram team vulcan orange
m5a97 evo 2.0 mb
corrsair gs600 psu
corrsair h80 water cooled,, but sounds like a beoing 747 taking off, thats another story ;)

not the best by most peoples standards,, but built with the help of you guys and i like it ;)

thanks for the input people, just been on gpubus.com comparing my card to the ones that you recomend, and they all kick but out of my card :) would i need to upgrade my psu if i went crossfire?

or is there a aftermarket cooler i can buy for it, as i happy with the card,, im not no girlie thats afraid to get my hands dirty ;) , just that if i split the money i can get myself a ssd,, and thats a big thumbs up or am i asking too much for my budget, just trying to reach for the moon on a firework powered budget :)

Yeah, a 260X if keeping the expense under a hundred notes. You should find it a decent chunk faster than the GTX460. I've used a 7770 as a rough comparison to the 460, since they are about on par with each other.

Second hand is where the most performance can be had for the price, though. I'm not sure how that cpu will handle a card with a memory interface greater than 256bit. It might well be okay, but I'm not certain.

thanks all, going to mull over all this info in the morning, hope to get to oc tomorrow and buy a new card so i can play a trouble free game of wow, without my computer shutting down and feeling like im sitting next to a hairdryer,,, great info all :)
 
hi guys, i sent my bf up to overclockers today and got the MSI Radeon R7 260X card, tried to have a a game of wow and this thing keeps of giving bad pixelated objects on screen, keeps on juddering like its on catch up, even if im on my mount in the sky doing nothing just being still, the wings of my mount stutter going up and down, ive tried all settings in the ccc, tryed lowering graphics in game to min settings, no vertical sync on or anything on,, tried updating drivers,,, nothing ;( please help, do i have a bad card,, i knew i should just of told him to buy the Powercolor Radeon R9 270 TurboDUO 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card as first said ;(

i have now removed the card and running on my old one with not a problem

thanks for the info, but is the card at fault or me and my bf did say he asked what card in shop and they asked what it would be used for, so he told them, cause the stuttering and pixel blobs just make playing anything impossible
 
Did you try re seating the new graphics card? Try a windows update and reinstall the graphics card drivers. Yea I can imagine! I'm on a break waiting for WoD!
