New Card

Getting a new card, (well actually a whole new pc) in my reseach stages..

Was originally thinking on getting a 8800GT or 8800GTS..

But for the same price I can get a ATI 4850

Or should I stretch a little further and go for a new GTX260 or a ATI 4870 ?

Recommendations please.

4850 is the way to go i believe. If you can stretch to it go for a 4870.

For the price of a 4870, I can get two 8800GTS's.....

Plus the 4870 drivers need to mature somewhat..

Not sure what to do.

or for a bit more than the 4870 you could have 4850 crossfire, quite a lot faster.

would depend what res you game at, 4870 would be the one i would go for. or a 4850 if you dont need higher res

Do not get the 8800 cards, get either a 4850 or 4870 depending on budget GTX 260 maybe, if it drops down even more in terms of prices.
