New Card??

Hi All,

My card is starting to get a little long in the tooth and seems to be struggling on boot up to start the monitor. Sometimes taking a few attempts before sending a signal through to it.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz;
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi;
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz;
Tagan TG530-U15 530W ATX2.01
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI

I only use the PC for FSX and am thinking it needs a new graphics card. Given the age of the other components and a Budget of £200 any ideas for a new one??

go for the sapphire 4870 1GB! its got a better cooler on it and its only £166

I'd seen that just wasn't 100% sure it would work with my existing components.

The 4870 1Gb is what i would go for. Best value for money.

Hi All,

Sorry to drag this back up from last year but I never managed to get a replacement card as I had other prioritys. I'm still plodding along with this system and think it could really do with a new card. I'm running Xp still so DX9 performance in FSX is all that matters. Is the 4870 still available?? If not what could I try instead. The budget has been squeezed down even more to £150 any ideas??

If staying on xp get the 4890 but for £150 get the 460 or 5830 as they will be better if you change your operating system to 7 for dx 10 & 11 which i think should do
