Ok, the GTX 970 G1's arrived today. Stripped both computers and fitted. Now when I re-connected to the monitors (a Dell U2410 and a Syncmaster T240), I changed out the cables. These were the cables that came with them from new. They turned out to be DVI-D single link. Now I know I've stepped up from two XFX HD5850's to the GTX 970's but boy oh boy what a difference in display ... I cannot believe it. It's like somebody just switched on HD or something .. I didn't test the cables on the new cards for comparison (and can't be bothered now), but is it down to the cables or the new cards? I'm not talking about 3D gaming .. purely desktop and colours and clarity .. anybody got any ideas??
Also, DVI cables transmit digital signal, so there should not be quality differences between various DVI cables.
