Really absolutely totally lost with things being released, revised etc

GTX970 looks ok but chances of coil whine, the memory issue etc
GTX980 very appealing but then there's how will this compare with the GTX980ti and will it be worth the wait or prove more expense over a GTX980?
GTX980ti what will this offer over a 980? and at what cost? although that's probably anyones guess at the moment....

8gb AMD card has got me interested but never had much luck with this brand.

I would wait for 980Ti, if it's anything like when the 780Ti came out there will be big price drops on the 980 and possibly 970 (particularly if AMD come good). They might even scrap 970 altogether if yields are good enough and sell 980 at that price point (possibly wishful thinking on my part but I think it's fair to say 980 is way overpriced).

Might want to edit the first word of your post to avoid a suspension.

Now is probably a good time to wait it out and see what's what when the new cards land.
 
Yep, agree with wait and see, need to line the pockets with asbestos, stop the money burning them away!

Will be interesting at to how this affects pricing across the range.
