Hi there, I'm looking for some help with a new design/build I will be undertaking. First of all let me explain my situation:
I'm currently studying Product Design and Technology at Loughborough University, having just come into my final year I needed to choose a direction for my final year project.
Having built several of my own computer systems I am aware of what is involved in the building, and replacement of parts, which I often find quite tedious... especially if you are constanly changing compontents.
For my project I am going to look into the design of a modular computer case with a more 'plug and play' attitude. Making it possible to literally pull out components and plug in new ones without the need to mess around with wires, opening the case up etc.
Obviously I am on a design course as well, so I will be trying to come away from the 'box' design that most computer cases follow, and make it a little more interesting to look at.
What I am looking for is any feedback on this proposition and/or any ideas people may have to help this design along as I'm sure there are a few things I have overlooked. Obviously the more feedback I can get the better I can develop this idea, and come out with a product I hope to put on the market some day.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and hopefully using this help I can go onto produce a high quality product.
Thanks for your time reading this.
Joel
