Afternoon all.
I've been putting this off for ages now, but I finally forced myself to type out this post. Since a few months ago I was very adamant about getting a new case for around the time I finished for the summer hols - reason being that I'd be spending a lot more time on my PC gaming, and my Antec 300 isn't quite up to the job of keeping my components cool on warmer days (cable management in the 300 is also abysmal). But I've just been putting it off for some unknown reason. Anyway, months ago I was looking at the Lian Li PC-B25FB and was quite set on getting it after reading a review on some site. However, about a month ago I started casually browsing cases again and saw topics and comments about the Lancool PC-K62, which seemed like a pretty good case after reading about it and seeing how much praise it gets.
Now, I've always preferred more understated cases, so naturally the Lian Li is more my cup of tea; however, the Lancool isn't as overstated (if you can even call it that) as a lot of cases, so I'm not going to dismiss it based on its looks. Essentially, I would *prefer* the Lian Li, but I'd get the Lancool if it's *better*.
I'm also looking at a quiet case. I don't mind the noise while I'm gaming because my graphics card is the most audible component, but the continuous whirring of my case while I'm watching films or TV gets annoying. I don't mind replacing fans if neither contender is especially quiet, but the case with the quietest stock fans will get bonus points when it comes making my decision. I have looked at cases designed for silent running, but none take my fancy.
Another thing is cooling: how does each case compare?
Cable management is also a must. I'm not too concerned about the Lancool, but I've seen the odd comment every now and then that it might be a bit of a squeeze routing some cables behind the motherboard tray of the Lian Li. Would be nice if anyone who owns or has owned the case could give their opinion on cable management.
Anyway, I think that's about it. Thanks a bunch chaps
