Sounds like the mobo is shorting on the case possibly, take it back out, make sure there's nothing under it that shouldn't be, and make sure only the headders needed to screw it in are fitted.

Check the stand offs fit correctly and are the correct place, no extra ones.

Unplug everything that isn't need, bare minimum for it to start up, try that.

Also make sure everything is plugged in correctly.

ok checked all the stand offs and if anything was touching mobo that shouldent off been and there was nothing i also tryed out side of case and got same problem

Try shorting the power switch contacts on the motherboard. I've seen it before where a defective case power button causes a shut down on starting up. You did say you tried it outside the case so maybe you've already done this.

PSU could be failing power good test. I'm not sure though as sometimes they cut all power when this happens.

Oh and use some grammar please as a wall of text is really quite tricky to read and understand.

im typing on ****** phone as my pc isent working... and power switch is fine been using the one on mobo. i will have to test the psu tomoz now

tho seems to me ive damaged mobo whilst moving it to the new case as nothing in my pc has shown signs of failing

I was typing on my phone as well. Anyway no matter. Just trying to help as lack of grammar really offends some people and maybe they'd ignore your post.

Not every motherboard have those power switches but seeing as yours does we can rule out the power switch.

Do you have a speaker or one of those 2 digit diagnostic displays?

I'm still thinking that the PSU is shutting the machine down to an electrical problem, either a short or a failure on the motherboard. Try running with a minimal setup. CPU, graphics card, 1 stick of RAM. Try removing graphics card and see if it makes a difference. Remove RAM to see if that makes a difference. Try a different PSU or try the PSU in a different machine of similar or higher spec.

What PSU are you using by the way?

I'll be honest. I've read the OP three times now and I'm still not sure what the problem is, I can't understand 80% of the post.

Owel!

Does the PC POST? Does it turn on at all? Does the light on the monitor stay amber or does it go green/red/blue?

it olny powers on for a second and olny when the power cable has been unpluged and plugged back in.

the the psu im using is a xfx 850 black mobo is asus rampage 2.

im going to go round my mates and test psu when he wakes up.

Ah right so it is a safety cut out thing. Had a PSU do exactly the same thing.

Supply power, mobo standby lights come on. Press power or case button it kicks fans over half a turn and then all power is cut. All lights go out. Sound similar?

The PSU had been working fine for 8 weeks prior to this and could power a couple of fans and the 12v was showing 12v when tested. It seemed to me that it just couldn't provide enough power to supply the 200w or so that my system needed at start up.

I replaced the psu with my spare, lower rated model and all was good again.

Maybe you knocked something while you were moving the psu.
