Ok i just come home and found that my Silverstone RV02W-EW Raven 2 Evolution Windowed Case has arrived. So i thought i might aswell install the optic drive and Cooler master silent pro 850w PSU in.

Right the problem is that this particular case seems to only take those over-sized PSU's like the Zalman ZM850-HP Plus Heatpipe Cooled 850W Modular Power Supply

Right so i installed the Cooler master psu anyway but the trouble is about a third of the fan is blocked off from the cases grill where it sucks the cool air through.

Would it be ok like this or should i get an oversized psu like above to be on the safe side?

1/3rd of the fan? i wouldnt worry about it tbh, if it really bugs you, either try to move the psu back or cut a larger vent hole :)

Thats what i was just thinking of doing. Cut a section out of the back plate.

Thanks a lot mate you've put my mind at ease.

remember that the psu controls the fan speed so if it isnt getting enough air to cool it down, it will just increase the fan speed a little - nothing to be concerned about :)

Yeah what i will most likely do is buy an oversized PSU when i build my brother one towards the end of the year and just swap power supplies. He's not likely to notice!:p
