Hi there, im wanting a midi size case which has lots of room but it isnt massive. I was as much space behind the mobo as i can get for hiding the cables away and preferably black or a dark colour with a side panel.
so...

*Black
*Sidepanel
*Lots of places to hide nasty cables
*lots of room
*Budget £100 most

Hope someone can come up with something :)

Armor Jr ?

I got nothing bad to say about the full size version, very well made etc and I can imagine the Jr version being the same, only... smaller =)

when you say sidepanel, you mean a window?

lian li pc7 and the optional windowed panel.

or the lian li pc-600.

i was swayed to buy lian li by othere users last week, and im glad i did. the quality is absolutely amazing. you wont regret it.

Akasa Eclipse is the obvious choice - it depends on you definition of "isn't massive" as the Eclipse is a little larger than a normal case.

yeah im really interested in the Eclipse with additional side panel. What are these like for noise?, with the stuff in my sig in it? I want it to be as quite as possible as im looking to keeping my PC on all night for Downloads ETC

The Eclipse is a straightforward aluminium box so it will be as loud as your current system.

ah right.. What s the Akasa sound proofing mats like? Does this affect the heat dispersion in the case?

I would not recommend any soundproofing. It's pants. How loud is your current system?

erm loud enough to not let me sleep at night lol, and i can kip any where tbh. Its a Enermax black knight and it has a 80mm fan on the side panel and one at the back which is an 80mm antec which the orange fins. but im using the stock CPU cooler and Fan for my GPU.

Any different coolers or less noisy fans anyone can suggest?

For that system I would use an AC Fan 12 set at 5V for the exhaust. I probably wouldn't bother with the inlet fan as your system should be fairly cool running and the case volume is huge. If you do discover you need an inlet fan I would suggest an AC Fan 1202, again at 5V.

For a CPU cooler, AC Freezer 64 Pro is a good budget cooler and not too loud. If you can afford it the Thermalright HR-01 is a fabulous passive CPU cooler (it has no fan) but it has a trick up it's sleeve in the form of a fan tunnel that links up with the exhaust 120mm fan and that just makes it even better.

If you really need silent, then on one of my systems I've got a Zalman Reserator cooling my CPU and graphics card with no case fans at all. The system is so quiet you can only tell it's on by spinning up the HDD or Optical Drives. The Reserator v1.0+ can be had for £130 but it will cool the CPU and graphics card absolutely silently.

thanks V.Much for the responces mate. Ive turned off the Intake fan and its made quite a difference for it being one fan. Im definetly going to be getting a new CPU cooler either the Tuniq Tower or the thermalright you suggested. And for my GPU i was considering buying a TT Tidewater as ive heard there great for cooling and arent very loud.

Thanks again WJA96, You've been a great help

I'd bodyswerve the Tidewater if it was me. It's ~£50 and an Arctic Cooling replacement GPU cooler will cost a third of that and be just as quiet.
