I currently have a Silverstone FT02 on my desk but the 180mm fans in the bottom are just too loud to have them next to my ears. I'm after something spacious and quiet, it needs to be able to fit my Himalaya 2 (170mm), 3 SSDs and 2 HDDs.

I like minimalist design like the FT02 or Antec P280, around £100 any ideas?

Have you tried reducing the voltage to the fans either with a fan controller/reducer?

For £100 I think you possibly answered your question mentioning the P280.

I had thought about it and I do like my case, can you recommend any controllers to go with the air penetrators as I'd rather do that than buy a new case.

Yeah but I'd need one for each fan, isn't there a better one that will do all 3?

What about the NZXT Sentry Mesh?

What motherboard are you using? There is some software you can also control 3pin or 4pin fans with

A fan controller will work, you need to make sure it has sufficient power per channel for your fans.

Or even a 7volt mod on the power cable to drop the voltage from 12v to 7v.

I think each AP181 is 5.4W, the Sentry Mesh is 30W/channel. I think this'll be the way forward, but I'll have a look at doing 7v mod this weekend before I throw money at the fan controller. Cheers guys.

7 volt modded the fan splitter, still a little loud during every day use for my liking. Going to get a fan controller I think so I can have them switched off when I don't need them.

You can use speedfan to turn off the fans if they are 3 or 4-pin voltage/PWM fans and plugged into the motherboard, and can change their speeds etc using a custom fan curve

You could try it as it's totally free :)
