Hi all

I currently have a full size COOLERMASTER CM STORM SNIPER - NEXT GEN GAMING CASE. but am finding it too big to fit in the space I now have to put my pc.

I am looking to replace it with a midi case but am unsure which one to get.

The spec of my pc is as follow: (its a few years old now but running great so only want to replace the case)

Overclocked CPU Over Clocked Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-950 (3.06GHz @ max 3.8GHz)
Motherboard ASUS® RAMPAGE III EXTREME
Memory (RAM) 12GB KINGSTON HYPER-X TRI-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (6 x 2GB KIT)
Graphics Card GTX 1070 graphics card
1st Hard Disk 256 SSD
2nd Hard Disk 1TB WD drive
Blueray/dvd drive
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W PRO SERIES (HX750) 80+ MODULAR PSU
Processor Cooling COOLIT ECO A.L.C (ADVANCED LIQUID COOLER)

What do you suggest? I intend on just moving everything from one case to the other.

thanks in advance for your help

Matt

If you want to mount the Bluray drive, and fit that EATX* motherboard, while keeping size to a minimum, the Corsair Obsidian 450D springs to mind (497 x 210 x 495mm). The grommets for cable management may not be usable due to the width of the motherboard (269mm) but the cables will still be attachable. It's a very light and surprisingly small mid-tower. Cases like the Phanteks Eclipse P400 are slightly smaller yet but have no optical bays for the Bluray.

* Asus call it an ATX but it's slightly larger than regular ATX (244mm width).

There may be some better and newer options. That one's just off the top of my head. You should state a budget and the actual space available for a case.

Thanks for the reply,

I am in two minds about keeping the Blueray drive, I cant remember the last time I used it tbh.

with regards to price, looking to spend upto £150, however If the right case comes a long for a bit more I will consider it. with regards to dimension looking for something no bigger than 450x200x440 ish

anything else you can suggest. seem to be struggling to find something that will take the EATX board

thanks again

regards

Matt

E-ATX cases have usually lot more depth than normal case to fit that those 33cm wide motherboards.
Often they're also bigger than midi towers.
Though that particular motherboard is ~2,5cm wider than standard ATX motherboard.
