Hello all,

I've finally got around to replacing my Cat, so now I'm looking to replace the rest of the exhaust system, I cant find anything that's made for my car?? so I'm being forced to look at universal systems but I have no idea on what to look for really, can any one recommend me anything.

It's for a 1.8 2003 mazda 6.

Many Thanks in advance

Edit, I think tho not 100% sure what I need is the middle pipe and back box, something that sounds nice would be great.

I'd probably go down the route of having one fabricated rather than try to bodge something generic to fit. It'll likely rattle itself to death, or at least drive you insane, if it doesn't fit right.

Find someone relatively local that does custom exhausts.

I'd recommend Cobra Sport (had one on my Leon Cupra R), but you are nowhere near!

Silly question

Why?

It will not give you any extra power over a stock item

Well, for my scenario, it did actually increase performance (not by much mind). I bought mine simply because I needed a new back box/rear section, fancied something that sounded far meatier (Cupra R stock exhaust looks meaty, but sounds pretty muted) and had a bit of a rumble on idle.

That said, the Cupra R had the trousers to back up the mouth :p

I would be very surprised if you cant get an exhaust specifically for your car, sounds a bit bizzare, places like Kwik fit can get them for you if your after a bog standard exhaust, otherwise go to your local stainless steel exhaust garage and get one custom made.

I think I means he can't find a performance exhaust to fit. Not being able to find a replacement exhaust for a 2003 Mazda 6 would indeed be bizarre.

I'd go for a custom if you know someone that's decent with a welder. Often works out cheaper too.

Ah my bad, in that case a custom stainless steel is the best way to go, you can choose how you want it to sound.

BTW umboma are you mattyk80? Recognise the name from somewhere.
